Too much like a wedding dress?

Anonymous
I bought this to wear to a family reunion at the beach in Maine over the 4th of July. I’m planning to wear a denim jacket with it in the morning and evening.

My husband says is looks like a wedding dress. I’m decades past my wedding. I certainly wouldn’t look good in a wedding dress. Is this something I can wear at 56?

Thank you!

Yes

Your husband doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yes! I actually love it. Looks very comfortable,

That looks nothing like a wedding dress.

I like it. Is eyelet still in? I wore white eyelet for a reunion in 2021 and wondering if I should bust it out again.

Unless you were planning on wearing a veil and carrying a nosegay around with you all day, I’m voting that this dress is perfectly fine.

It’s perfect for a July 4th party in Maine!

Pop on a red bangle.

It's probably different from your usual style and that makes your husband uncomfortable.

With a denim jacket, it will not look like a wedding dress.

That’s something I’d wear every day! Don’t cover with denim. Definitely not wedding material.

Thank you, everyone!

It looks very shapeless. I think unless you have a figure like that 19 year old model, it's going to read very dumpy.

Actually, it looks like a nightgown on all the review photos. I think a similar eyelet dress but with some darts in the front and maybe vertically on the back would be flattering, and still comfortable.

And the pocket bags really are showing through the dress material...not a good look.

I am baffled by the modern trend of calling shapeless sacks dresses. I know it's easier and cheaper for the manufacturers, but why do women buy this stuff?
