Need recommendations for shoes to wear with this dress for my engagement photos at a historic hotel. Something a little fun. Wide width is preferable.

Chie Mihara! They are cute quite wide and most are made of softer, more comfortable leather.
I like these below, but they have lots of bridal options. https://www.chiemihara.com/en/chie-mihara-sandals/16271-194231-bri-belulu.html#/5-colour-gold/35-shoe_size-42 My own wedding shoes were red suede Chie Mihara pumps with flowers. |
I like the idea of really bright colorful heels, maybe multi-colored and shiny. Adds a little kick since this is engagement pic and not actual wedding. |
+1. I prefer engagement photos that don’t read like “wedding lite” |

I agree. I think a beautiful red could be very pretty or one of your favorite colors.
These are very expensive but may serve as inspiration: https://www.manoloblahnik.com/us/nadira-68969.html |
Why an ivory white dress for engagement photos?
Oh well. Hooker heels like in the photo. |
Even loafers would look better than hooker sandals. |
I'd wear tan flat sandals with the straps that wrap a few times around the ankle. Many brands make them, I am sure you can find a wide one. Like these:

Many women seem to wear white in their engagement photos. What would you suggest instead? I’m happy to have styling recommendations. The shoot will be at a historic hotel with an old European boutique style and naturalist themes. |
I like to keep it simple. Navy blue or another jewel toned dress in a timeless style. A shirt dress belted at the waist, a silk wrap dress, or a relaxed sheath (your great-great grand children may see these photos!) and a classic pair of low heeled pumps in a nude color or whatever flatters your skin tone. I would stay away from open toes or black. Maybe a patent leather or a suede, if not a classic Nappa. |
Great shoes, thanks for the rec |
X1000. It’s almost like ruining the wedding impact when wedding light attire is used. I’m really surprised op is going with a long white dress for engagement photos. Maybe not in my circle, but most engagement photos I see don’t take that track. They are casual or night on the town fun. |
Maybe I’ve been poisoned by social media because I see a lot of brides wearing white bridal outfits throughout their “bridal era.” For the engagement shoot, engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, etc. I thought it was what you were supposed to wear. I figured since the dress is tea length and doesn’t have much in common with my wedding dress (scoop neck, 3D floral lace bodice, full organza a line skirt) it wouldn’t change the impact on the wedding day but now I’m rethinking. I do want to wear a fairly formal dress to match the historic hotel where the shoot will be. If anyone has non-white outfit suggestions, I’m all ears. I still have time to find something else.
