Tiny question: ribbon storage

Anonymous
Does anyone have a compartment box that they like for storing and categorizing ribbons? (Not scrapbook pages or wall racks.) I've had a lot of trouble locating something with the right dimensions.

Yes - curious about boxes to store award ribbons (as opposed to the kind for gifts, although that storage rack looked awesome!).

My kid hangs his on his lamp for the summer. Then he pitches them.

How old is your swimmer? Seriously don't recommend saving ribbons forever.

Maybe a shoebox at most if we are talking about the regular, weekly ribbons

All of mine from 30 years ago fit nicely in a stack inside a gallon sized ziploc.

+1
We had 3 kids on summer swim for 15 years. We hung the ribbons across a downstairs doorway and taped each week’s ribbons to previous ones - made a curtain of ribbons to walk through. Kept it up for the summer, took it down Labor Day. I did sort them by kid and store them in ziplocks, but should’ve just kept the top personal bests and any special races. Kids are graduated college and zero interest in them - just went through them and pitched almost all. The photos of them holding the ribbons are the best memory.

Ours decorate the interiors of their closets with them...

My kid keeps them in an envelope--one for every season.

The inside of my car….
The kitchen table….
Under their bed…..
Inside their swim bag…..

My kids have swim binders with special inserts for the ribbons and regular plastic sleeves for paper plate awards.

Keep them. I am not a big saver of things but I have all my old ones and the kids love looking at my times and comparing to theirs.
