Virginia Woman Killed Million Realtor in Hamptons

Pretty disturbing not only did she hit and run and kill her, she had women’s large pink suitcase wedged under car and dragged it all the way back to her house. Car was damaged a lot and a license plate reader running from scene caught her.

Apparently it was really foggy out and she thought she hit a cone. Not a good look though to not call police if you see a suitcase attached to your car. I am also wondering why someone was walking with a suitcase on a highway? Alcohol not a factor so maybe a terrible tragedy?

I don't think you can have a suitcase wedged under your car and not know. I'm a pretty clueless driver, but one time I broke part of some piece of plastic under my car on a bunch of snow, and I could definitely tell right away.

Montauk Highway isn’t an actual highway, it’s a two-lane road that winds through the Hamptons.

Hampton Bays is where Long Island Railroad stop is where people take train to and from Hamptons. “Montauk Highway” is just a two way street through town and pretty sure 30 mph speed limit tops 40 mph. So people get off train with suitcase a lot there. It is also Hampton Jitney Bus stop a lot of people take. There’s a supermarket, 7/11, Starbucks and stores and bars.

There’s driver had just left a bar when hit her. Story is dicey. She never called cops. Women was alive on side of road she who knows might have lived if she called cops even if just when she got home.

Alcohol could have been a factor. But she fled scene so no way to know after that much time.

Well, Karen Read didn’t realize she backed up into anyone either.

Sounds like they should put in a sidewalk if there's a bus stop and a train station there so people don't get hit like this.

If she hit someone who was walking down the road, she would know if she had her wits about her at all. But also, the fact that it was the middle of the night and foggy does seem like it could be a factor. But to not see a huge pink suitcase when you fully ran over it? Very indicative that she was drunk.

This is a common strategy for wealthy people who hit someone while intoxicated.

A driver might hit someone, speed dial their lawyer while still driving, and receive “hypothetical” advice to continue home and get the alcohol out of their system. Meanwhile, discretion at the bar is ensured with cash and NDAs.

This. I have never been to the hamptons but the idea of rich people getting off a train and hoofing it down a long stretch of road is hilarious to a commoner like me. Don't they have car services and ubers?
