What to wear to a cocktail party?

I was invited to a cocktail party hosted by a 60yo gay man/ a colleague.what to wear? I never go out anymore… Thinking patent brown pumps, barrel jeans, a silk navy cami, and gold jewelry. Is this ok?

That just sounds boring to me. Like I'd wear to a restaurant for a fairly casual night. This sounds like a fun occasion to wear a dress or something a little outside the everyday.

Pants, no jeans. If they specifically stated cocktail party don't dress down with jeans. If the invite was drinks then jeans are fine.

How about white linen wide leg pants, they will look nice with a camj and gold

Way too casual. This is brunch on a Saturday at Le Diplomate. You need a dress or a much more elevated style of pant beyond jeans.
