What is your take on a cell phone tower near a residence?
Would you be worried and still buy the property? I have found some information by researching on the internet, but somehow the towers have gone up all over the county without any input from the residents |
Total dealbreaker |
No I would not buy the property |
How near? |
Also check that your kids school isn’t right next to one!
Fcps puts those towers on many high schools and middle schools! |
As long as it’s 20ft away, no issues. Too much paranoia. Signed, RF engineer. |
ya know they caused corona virus, right? ![]() ![]() |
Downplaying and belittling OP’s concern doesn’t take away from the fact that long term exposure at the low levels you would get from the cell towers has NOT been thoroughly studied! |
you get more exposure from using your cell phone, especially if you're someone who always has it within a foot of your body and spends more than an hour on it a day https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7337122/ "First, unlike lower frequency fields, MMW do not penetrate beyond the outer skin layers and thus do not expose inner tissues to MMW. Second, current research indicates that overall levels of exposure to RF are unlikely to be significantly altered by 5G, and exposure will continue to originate mostly from the “uplink” signals from one’s own device (as they do now). Third, exposure levels in publicly accessible spaces will remain well below exposure limits established by international guideline and standard setting organizations, including ICNIRP and IEEE. " |
With 5G there are cell phone towers everywhere. Look it up on the FCC site |
These idiots are the same ones who complain about wireless services. There is always a trade off in life. For every benefit, there is a price paid. |

It would be part of the consideration. If you're in an urban location, you might be near cell towers, highways, a restaurant (loud/smelly), busy roadway. If there are similar properties at the same price, then I would prefer those. |
Or what? Are you going to move? Put your kiddo in private school? |
