Hi, I’m 12w pregnant (FTM), and I have an autoimmune condition that makes me high risk. So far I have been with CWC for OB and Sibley for MFM, however I just had a flare recently and I now need more follow-ups with specialists and MFM. My specialist is based at Georgetown, and I’m really happy with her care, and I’m now thinking it makes more sense to change my OB/MFM to Georgetown as well for easier coordination, as I don’t have such strong feelings about my other doctors.
Does anyone have any recommendation for a high risk OB at Georgetown? And this is a silly question, but what’s the right way to make this switch? Do I need a referral (if so from my PCP?) or can I just reach out to the MFM directly? Thank you! |
I just had Dr Drassinower and the Georgetown OB/GYN team. Extremely happy with them |
Also a second recommendation for Dr Drassinhower! She is absolutely amazing, super responsive, and very positive and calming. I was also with CWC but switched to Georgetown to have more integrated care. I thought the delivery experience there was great and I actually thought the nurses were better at Georgetown (vs Sibley where I gave birth to my first) |
I am a T1D and gave birth the first time around at Georgetown and am back again with the OBs for my second. My endo is not at Georgetown actually and it probably would be easier if he was but I like the OBs and MFMs at Georgetown. You don’t really pick an OB or MFM per se. You’ll see OBs for most appointments and then may get referred for an MFM consult, plus you’ll see the MFM on duty for the 12 week scan, anatomy scan, and during the third trimester monitoring appointments. The OBs deliver you not the MFMs. I like Dr. Drassinhower too but they are all great. |
Dr Drassinower is wonderful |
