I’m only in my low 40s but I recently lost a lot of weight and think I need some sort of face and/or neck lift. My face and neck aren’t terrible, but the skin definitely isn’t tight anymore. I don’t really know which procedure(s) I need (deep plane, mini, etc.), so I’d like to go to some consults to find out. What plastic surgeons should I meet with for this? I want to look natural. I’m in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area for location. |
I should add, I will also want a tummy tuck and breast lift, but I think that may be further down the road given the recovery. Not sure if I should be going to a plastic surgeon who would do both eventually? |
Choose the surgeon who’s best at the individual procedures. For the tummy tuck you will want to be at a stable weight for at least several months. |
Find out who did Jane Fonda’s face lift, because she looks amazing. |
That will be the likes of Dr. Jacono, who charges in the range of $250,000. |
George Bitar in Fairfax . Both my daughters and I have had procedures with him and we’ve been very happy . He’s one of the few surgeons I know in the area who does both face and body surgeries. He also recently did a friend’s facelift and she looks amazing. |
Too much hype about Dr. Jacono. Yes he did some great facelifts but he is also rumored to have a high complication rate. $250K for a facelift is in the vicinity of what he charges apparently and it's crazy. You can get an equally great result from a deep plane facelift done by someone in the DMV like Drs. Rad, Bitar or Cohen who charge significantly less. (I am a former operating room nurse that worked with a few plastic surgeons) |
100%. Those doctors for the famous charge those prices simply because the rich and famous people who use them will pay it. It’s really for no other reason. You can get the same results with someone local for the typically charged price for the service. |
I saw her in person last year and immediately told my husband I wished I had her plastic surgeon. She looks amazing. |
Np. Any tips or things we should look out for? What do you think is the most important thing when choosing a surgeon? |
I thought the recovery would be the same for a deep plane or a tummy tuck? Can anyone advise? I’d like to get both too. Actually I was thinking the tummy tuck first because I don’t want to lose any more weight from the face neck once I get the lift done. |
Recovery for a facelift and tummy tuck are not the same. After a tummy tuck it is quite some time before you can lift anything which can be difficult if you have small children (for example). You also should not get a tummy tuck until you have lost all the weight you plan to lose and maintain it for 6 months or a year. It sounds like you need to do a lot more research on the procedures you are considering. |
OP I had a lower face and neck lift with Dr olding because of sagging due to weight loss and aging. It looks phenomenal and completely natural. He is amazing and I can’t speak highly enough about him. If you want to look natural, he is the dr to see. My recovery was also very easy from the lower face and neck lift. I also had a TT and lift with implants with him fall of last year and also have phenomenal results. Looks completely natural. He’s the chief of plastic surgery at GW. His office staff is also fantastic. |
Has anyone had experience with Dr. Somenek? I went for consultation and was very impressed. I know one person who had great results. I believe he only does facial plastic surgery and his partner does body (Dr. Pittman). |
NP. If you don’t mind sharing, what did these procedures cost? |
