It feels like the lid is about to blow off.
The more people see others pushing back, the more join in. People have had it. I think it’s going to be a violent summer all over the country, something like I haven’t seen in my lifetime- but heard my parents talk about DC burning. True Americans fighting authoritarian govt to preserve democracy in the US. I have seen a lot that voted for him turning. |
The six days of unrest during the Harlem riot of 1964 is viewed as the first of clusters of riots, uncoordinated with each other, evidently unplanned, most often in cities during the summer months. The pattern caused over 150 separate incidents of violence and unrest over the "long, hot summer of 1967" (the most destructive riots taking place in Detroit and Newark), came to a climax during the national wave of King assassination riots in over 100 American cities in 1968, and relented in 1969. |
The US military now has the power to arrest US citizens. Remember the deployment order is not limited to California. This is at the discretion of Trump.
The marines will accompany ICE raids. It is full scale police state now. The US military is trumps private army and police. |
Kent State |
Not just illegals. They will be doing this to private US citizens that disagree. |
They don't legally have that power |
I’m worried about a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities that’s going to put us in a fearful climate moving attention away from the encroaching authoritarianism. |
There are a lot of things this administration has done that they don’t have the legal power to do. Their modus operandi is to do it first then have someone sue/challenge them later. |
Well, ICE shouldn’t have the power to put their hands on and arrest American citizens, but whether or not an entity has power depends quite a bit on whether or not there’s another entity that can contain the first one. |
This all conveniently started right after Elon started talking about blowing the lid off Trump. We’re all going to pay so we can be distracted. |
Don’t think so, that would spike oil prices. T doesn’t want that. |
Maybe but mostly it’s Miller’s doing. This is his wet dream and he’s been dreaming about this for years, apparently since high school. |
Darn it I thought this was going to be a thread about skipping stones and going fishing in the carefree days of yore. How disappointing. |
+1 This is all Miller. Unappointed but in charge of our immigration policy, and our military |
So glad I will be in another country far away. I hope I come home to a country. |
