Last night we went to WT to see Paul Simon. When he began speaking it was immediately clear that something was not right with the speaker system. The crowd went nuts. I have honestly not seen anything like it before. Yelling, screaming from the lawn; someone yelled at some tech guy to turn up the sound - the tech guy replied “I’m not the sound guy.” A woman was yelling at an usher about the money she'd paid. People were telling other people to sit down and shut up. It was insanity. Were you there and what did you think? |
Um did they ever fix it OP. Did the "show go on" |
Yes. They fixed the sound about mid-way through his first song, is my recollection. |
People are extremely rude and even violent now. It's all normalized from the top down |
When even Paul Simon’s fans are rude and obnoxious, we’re doomed as a society. |
+1 |
It was not a big deal. Those few ppl definitely overreacted. The issue was rectified very quickly. |
That sounds awful! I was at Wednesday’s show and while there were no technical difficulties I did very much note and enjoy how chill the crowd was. I’m sure if something happened to set them off they would erupt too. People have no patience or common sense anymore. |
I was there. I thought there was some protest happening they were so loud and disruptive. Poor Paul was exasperated.
But what a great show with this legend. We stayed until the very last Sound of Silence. |
Paul Simons crowd is old liberal hippy types and left wingers. They are a little emotionally fraught right now. |
I was disgusted by all the twerking. I hadn’t expected that at all Paul Simon concert. |
Alcohol fueled stupidity, no doubt. |
Have you seen what concert tix cost now? People are extorted for upwards of $500 to even $1,000+ for a show. If you paid $60 for a steak would you not be furious if the restaurant served you hamburger helper? When you pay $100+ to even $500+ for a concert the production should be flawless. |
Ticket prices definitely add to the overall stress — and the entitlement. |
This. Performers and venues and distributors all want to gauge people and then deliver a subpar product? This is what is going to happen. We took our teen girls to the Eras Tour (excellent of course) and then I told them I’m done with live concerts, maybe forever. I’m not paying that kind of money for anyone else. |
