Please recommend a good travel agent

Anonymous
My parents have asked me to plan a multigenerational family trip for either a beach house near Annapolis; near Fenwick/Ocean City; or near Philadephia (like a nice big rental so we can see historical stuff). I don’t want to deal with planning this myself, so please recommend travel agents you have worked with! Thank you!

Why don’t your parents plan it if they’re so keen? Probably retired with lots of time in their hands

What exactly do you want a travel agent to do in this scenario?

Most travel agents don't do beach house rentals - how would they get compensated?

+1

Travel agents these days get commissions from hotels and sometimes kickbacks from local tours they have contracts with.

Google. That is your travel agent. What exactly do you need to plan? Find a house and book it.

This isn't some complicated multi country trip.

Right! Ask a friend where they have gone OP. This isn't complicated.

It's unlikely a travel agent will be able to help you. Most focus on hotels, cruises, and packaged tours which all pay commissions; few, if any, deal with short term rental properties. That's a job for the individual consumer to deal with by themself, using platforms like VRBO.

As far as local activities, dining, and sightseeing go, the same concept applies - it's easy enough to do your own research into any given area, although you'll have to take into account the likely varying interests, physical capabilities, budgets, and energy levels of your group's members. You might limit your involvement to identifying a rental property, and let everyone else schedule their own activities.
