Can anything be done about this LOUD bird?

Anonymous
For the past three days there has been a bird in my yard (sometimes it’s in the front, sometimes the back) that incessantly chirps so loudly that it’s driving me insane. It’s such a high-pitched chirp that I can hear it over my loud fan! I think it sits on my roof and in the trees close to my house, likely has a nest nearby. It didn’t stop until 1am last night and started up again around 4am, and then constantly all day long (I WFH.)

Why is it doing this? How can I make it leave? I don’t even care if it dies at this point, which is horrible, but I’m exhausted. Scaring it away hasn’t worked; I’ve tried clapping pie pans, spraying it with water, etc. it just leaves only to come back. Help!

The annual how do I make birds stop what they do naturally post. Really you just have to learn to live with it or move to somewhere where there aren’t birds.

This is probably illegal under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

Can you get a fake owl? We have a fake owl and it doesn't work but maybe there's one that has movement or something now to scare them?

Call animal control and report this wildlife for intentionally harassing you.

Get a cat. Once too many of its naps have been interrupted, one day you will find a small clump of feathers on the ground, a smiling cat enjoying some peace and quiet, and your blood pressure lower.

You could get a pet boa constrictor but if it sneaks into the neighbor’s house, a loud bird will be the least of your problems.

Leave him little treats and make friends with him. I had a crow friend who would bring me "gifts."

Go out into your yard and shout “will some other bird come and f**k this bird?” very loudly, that’s what it’s looking for.

I feel you, OP. There’s a super loud bird that sounds like a car alarm and it likes to hang out in the trees behind my house overnight. Get ear plugs for sleeping and noise canceling headphones for working.

Please be careful if some weird man asks if you know the air speed velocity of this bird.

Oh boy, we have an owl that hoots in the early morning hours and of course that drives one of my dogs absolutely bananas. So, we have hooting and barking!

Funny, the other dog could care less about the hoots.

Good luck.

It’s seriously time to find a new joke.
