Monica
Claudia Julia We are looking for something beautiful, known, easy to spell and pronounce, yet not super popular. Something that will be striking and interesting yet not strange. Italian American surname. Opinions, please! |
Yuck on Monica and Claudia, no no no.
Julia is a nice name LOL "striking and interesting" none of these are that at all. I understand your concern for your child. Choosing a name that’s simple and easy to spell can really help them in school. It’s important for their confidence and comfort in social situations too. Monica and Claudia they will be outcasts. |
All are fine. I prefer Julia and Claudia. Adults might think of Monica Lewinsky or Monica from Friends, but kids won't, and people don't think badly of Monica Lewinsky.
I also like Natalie/Natalia if you are looking for other options. |
People love Monica Lewinsky now! What about Veronica? |
I LOVE Julia and am bummed that it didn’t sound good with our last names. The other two are fine too. |
I like Claudia |
Love Julia - one of my all-time favorite names. She would have been my fourth daughter if I'd had one. ![]() |
Love Claudia. Meh to the other two.
Have you considered Lucia? |
I love Claudia! (We went with Claire.) Also love Julia.
Monica is not my favorite. What about Nora? |
Orfer of preference
Julia Claudia Monica Other suggestions Allegra (my favorite of these) Cecilia Lucia Congrats, OP! |
I am in your position, but my wife has ruled these out. We have an Italian surname.
Monica is great if you are Christian because she was the mother of St. Augustine of Hippo. She is a wonderful example. I think Julia is beautiful but much prefer the Italian spelling Giulia. |
Love Claudia
- Julia second - Monica far last |
This is hyperbolic. All of the names are fine, and none will exile your child from society. IME kids are not that judgmental about names. |
An allergy medication? |
Don't love any of them. Sorry but you asked.
For names that are easy to spell but not super popular, how about: Sylvie Louisa Amelia Sarah Claire |
