Where to see SOL scores in ParentVue?

Anonymous
Does anyone know how/ where we can look to see this year's SOL scores? My kid knows she "passed" but I want to know her score w/o bothering already overburdened teacher. TIA.

In FCPS we have tabs called Test History and Documents. Both my kids' SOL scores are in Test History and one kid's are also in Documents. Not sure if your ParentVue is set up the same way.

APS: In "documents" but the tests they just took this week are not in there. I have a SN child and sometimes I get to hear the score unofficially right after but not this time. I guess they'll come in July/ August again.

APS makes scores available at the end of July, typically.

You only are notified NOW if they didn't pass. Results in the summer.

This is NOT true. My child failed and I was not told until August, because child’s score was not close enough for a retake. It’s criminal to me that APS doesn’t immediately tell parents kids scores — why the hell not? They are our kids. They do so in middle school. They do so in Fairfax.

Those of us who want to know want to know because we care and are doing something about it. When we were notified, it was the straw that broke the camels back that caused us to get our child tested, diagnosed with dyslexia and intense out of school tutoring. Still makes me so mad. I really think APS is just the worst about stuff like this.

Our middle school teachers haven’t told yet, much to my kid’s annoyance

The teachers have this info. You can ask.

Yeah I have no idea why APS waits so long. What reason do they give? It means parents potentially miss out working intensively over the summer to catch their kids up.

You can but the teachers at our elementary school keep a close hold on this information, deferring to the principle who weirdly thinks this crap is super secret. Taylor.

They say that scores haven't been leveled or normed according to statewide results or something along those lines. I don't care how my kid compares, I just want the basic score.

I believe these will be released June 23 week for APS

Because they don't want you to ask for a "child find" meeting and remediation. That's why.

The last 2 years results haven't been posted until the end of July. June 23rd would be a huge improvement!

I am another parent whose been frustrated they don't share the results right away. There's no reason to wait until most of the summer is gone, which can be a time for extra catch up for some kids.
