Other Soccer Forums?

Anonymous
I’ve noticed an uptick in non-DMV commenters on DCUM. Are there other soccer forums in other areas or is the DCUM Soccer the most active youth soccer forum?

It's because leagues are national.

Also other forums usually require login + username. Or, they go to the other extreme with no login.

What makes DCUM different is its Anonymous but also monitors posts deleting what's inappropriate and boots people if they get too out of hand.

It also helps that DMV parents are ridiculous snobs and the teams generally aren't very good. Which makes for entertaining comments.

Talking Soccer depending on the state and socalsoccer.com are the most active. I've noticed r/youthsoccer on reddit becoming more popular as well.

As the prior poster said, the league announcements and age group changes brought in a lot of new people from all over the country.

I'm someone not from the DMV. There's not a lot of places to have open conversations about youth soccer and its good/bad/ugly and I have found this one to be quite real and useful on the national topics.

On Facebook, there are plenty of groups and you can be anonymous, except the admins know who you are. On Reddit, a username will have its history and the other soccer forums aren't nearly as active, leaving this one -- at least at the moment -- the best out there. Congrats?

This is by far the most active place to discuss youth soccer in the country - there are private Facebook groups, but I've never loved that format.

On the web there's a socal forum, a Georgia one, Ohio, Long Island, Texas - none nearly as active. Big soccer is good overall but the youth forum is not that active.

So congrats my fellow over involved, letter chasing, striving compatriots - we've made it at last.

I'm not directly in the area, but close enough that the discussion here is relevant.

Plus, I've checked out some of the other forums and they just aren't as active.

The VA forum on talking-soccer is dead. The PA and NJ forums there are active though so you if you want to read about MF and PDA feuds, you can or Delco v. Ukies.

The socalsoccer site had some good info, but it's kinda sporadic as well.

So, for us youth soccer crazed folks, this seems to be the place.

bigsoccer.com is ok, but has so many sub areas, you have to find one that is actually active or you wait days for reactions and conversations

For a while the MA forum on TS had a competing age change thread, but the site is so hard to use and has stupid captchas/posting limitations I think most people gravitated here. R/youthsoccer seems to be getting a lot more quality posts/discussions of late.

I live in DC proper and my child plays for a top club who plays teams in PA and NJ.

DelCo is the PA equivalent of MoCo or Bethesda. They are mirrors in different states.

At this point, I am really familiar with PA and NJ soccer communities almost like they are home.

With ECNL, you extend into the Carolina’s and you have just about an entire seaboard interested in the same topics. We just have a thriving board that actually discusses it.

Despite what people think, there is valuable information shared on this board. My DC has benefited tremendously from the info shared. I try to share in return. We have snarky-ness and race but that is no different than regular life IMHO.

Yup, there is VERY valuable information shared way ahead of any official sources, but you will have to filter through tons of garbage posts. The banter is also fun.
