About two weeks

My first two took longer than two weeks. 3-4 weeks I believe.

My third is a chonk and a huge eater, he was back to birth weight by about a week.

Did you EBF?

Mine took a very long time. I had 41 and 42 weekers, plus 2 days on pitocin and a saline drip prior to giving a birth, which meant my babies were so plump with water when they finally arrived. As long as they're steadily gaining, they're fine. I had very chonky newborns (9 and almost 10lbs), but my kids have it in their genes to be tall and skinny, so they didn't stay at the top of the weight charts long.

Are you doing weight checks?

This is a question for your pediatrician.

My son was at his birth weight by that age but there's a wide variety of normal. However slow weight gain could be a red flag he isn't getting sufficient nutrition and you should discuss this with a pediatrician.

If you are breastfeeding, I would also see an IBCLC and try a weighted feed as well.

Try to avoid some of the really extreme breastfeeding types as they can be problematic (I personally formula supplemented the first couple weeks but then was able to EBF so some of the stuff they push isn't accurate and can harm your kid).

1 week with first kid, 1 day with 2nd...

But first kid I had to supplement with formula and triple feed ( had low blood sugar and jaundice so supplementing was very needed)- and had non stop lactation visits.

1st was EBF.

2nd I did a little too off with some formula some times, but by about six weeks was EBF.

3rd was so hungry he destroyed my nipples by day 5, and I switched to exclusively formula. He immediately started drinking 4oz in a sitting and is huge.

Mine both took a while, over 3 weeks if I remember correctly. They struggled with BFing at first and we had to supplement with formula. My first never quite got the hang of it so we combo fed but my second is now EBF.

Actually I misremembered, my second was less than two weeks and that's because we were more aware of the potential problem and supplemented with formula very quickly. My first struggled a bit more (was also born early, which was part of the issue).

Took about 3-4 weeks but he was a chonker (almost 10 lbs birth weight and lost 10% in the first two days)
