Are there still bidding wars for rentals in Bethesda/CC/FH?

A few friends who moved there a few years ago told us they had to overbid to get their rentals, that multiple realtors were fighting over the same houses. One realtor told me clients start leases months before they actually need the house because things are so competitive. But these experiences seem to be pre-DOGE - is this still the case?

From just watching rentals on Zillow it does not look like there are bidding wars underway. I feel like quite a few houses came on the market recently and rental prices seem to be lower than they used to be. And also the houses do not disappear from the market quickly.

I think it depends on price. My neighbor priced it at $6,500 which is high so the most he will get is that or lower. Been sitting two weeks.

If he priced at $4,000 he have a bidding war.

I’m a landlord who just rented a house in Bethesda. I think the house was priced appropriately for the market. It was listed for a week and we got one interested party who got the house. No bidding war.
