Best way to avoid cooking

Neither DH nor I like to cook and we've done a terrible job prioritizing it, leading to way too many take out meals. We've all gained too much weight as a result. If we're willing to spend money on this, what's the best way to eat more healthy, recognizing that we will struggle to cook more than a few nights a week?

That is, how can we get home cooked meals without cooking ourselves?

Do you grill? We tend to grill a lot of protein on the weekends this time of year and incorporate it into meals over the week (or freeze some). So a batch of pollo asado thighs will go on salads, in burrito bowls, in quesadillas for the kids, etc.

You can hire someone to meal prep for you. There are services for this. My sister used to do it before she got hired as a personal chef. She charged $50 an hour (minimum 5 hours) and would plan, shop, and cook meals according to whatever health/taste specifications for 5+ days.

It’s only myself and my DH in the house. Every meal I make, I make double recipe. Leftovers, YAY!

I love to make a large pot of soup or chili and have leftovers. I also find using the instapot and using recipes that involve baking are taxing than anything involving a skillet. In other words, recipes that require not much more than dumping the ingredients.

Also, we do rotisserie chicken plus a veggie at least once a week.

You can buy salads. There are even ones that come with proteins.

Think basic.
Like a PP suggested, rotisserie chicken. Add to salad, or have with rice and veggies. You can get lots of steam in the bag veggies now you just throw in the microwave.
Pizza with whatever raw veggies you both like
Spaghetti, use WG spaghetti and Raos sauce.

Just Bare chicken bites. Costco sells a large bag. From frozen they take 8 mins in the air fryer. They’re similar to chick fil a.
We eat those about twice a week. You can have over WG rice, with veggies, or just with bagged salad.

I ordered cook unity meals for my SIL when she had a newborn. Pretty healthy.
