Not sure if there are camps for 2 year old in moco (Wheaton /SS area), any input appreciated or if anyone is aware of nanny share in this area. |
Rock Creek Montessori off of Connecticut Ave |
You need to look at childcare/daycare centers
Regular summer camps don’t take 2 year olds. |
This..daycare centers are where you need to look. |
Yes, OP, you would never put your 2 year old in a camp situation, which by definition has a much lower staff to kid ratio with far less supervision. Even when your kid qualifies, don't be too quick to bundle them in a camp. If they're the youngest, they will have difficulty keeping up and they might not be safe. It depends on the camp, of course. |
Camps tend to start at 3.5 in Maryland per licensing rules but there are definitely preschools that offer camp and cater to 2 year olds, mostly for their regular kids but some will take new kids as well. Cedar Lane in Bethesda is one. That said, it’s typically a half day, not the whole summer situation (no camp in August). |
Goddard Bethesda has summer camp for Toddlers and is NAEYC accredited and Excels level 5. Wonderful camp. |
Temple Shalom enrolls that age for “summer camp.” You don’t need to be Jewish. They are open 7am-6 pm |
Silver spring learning center has a summer camp I think. Jewish preschool but I think they start at 2. You don’t need to be Jewish to go there. We were not. |
