Should MCPS have school levy’s?

What if cluster, by cluster. A school levy is held? How would you guys feel about that? We vote to pass the levy for the money or vote no and no money is given.

Yes, in my cluster there’s no way I would pay more.

We pay a levy. We pay federal, state and county taxes. We also pay taxes on all our utilities and goods and services we purchase. Isn't that enough?

I meant where we can opt out of extra costs, if we the parents feel like the cluster doesn’t deserve it.

What extra costs do you pay? We buy books, sports gear and music equipment but that’s it

That would be a NO.

You’re clearly a g-d idiot but what kind of dumbassery are you trying to present? There’s no mechanism by which this is possible under state law. And it’s stupid.

I think op is trying to do what school levy’s are in red states where you can contest property tax raises for the school I could be wrong though.

And we’d want to mirror that why?

There's no mechanism for cluster by cluster funding and no way it makes sense in a county based district

I guess because they feel in some clusters raising property taxes is not a good move as school quality is not increasing.

People handle that by moving to a cluster or district that they do think deserves it.
