Today is last official day of school. We made it. And for those of us that this is last kid. Empty Nestor time coming up this fall.

The kids did amazing!!! Covid, Remote School, Going Back to Normal and now being launched into real worlds as full grown adults.

Class of 2026 it now the King of the Hill as 2025 has passed the Crown.

Our last day is tomorrow, not today.

I don't particularly like your last sentence, given that every year there's a fresh crop of graduates, but whatever.

Best of luck to your kid, OP.

Meh. Technically, this was their last full day of school. The seniors only have to go in for one period tomorrow (at least at our high school).

I have a '24 and '26. I remember the excitement of the last day of school for my '24 and now my '26 will be the Queen of the Hill. Congrats to the class of '25 - you did it!

Damn, I feel old now realizing the upcoming senior C/O 2026 will be people born in late 2007-mid 2008. Almost everyone born in the 2000’s will have already graduated.

Congrats to everyone with seniors today however, I heard today is the official last day.

Yes, congratulations to all of us and our kids. This was my easiest one - other two had special needs and needed a lot of support to finish. I am happy to be moving to the next phase, but I will miss MCPS. My kids had such a great experience, especially in MS and HS. Best wishes for success to class of 2025.

My son's last day was yesterday although he had to turn in the Chromebook today.

C/O 2025 are also the first high schoolers to spend all 4 years in-person after COVID (they still had restrictions during freshman year in 2021-22).

Congratulations! Mom of a 2024 grad here, and was just remembering how insanely busy these weeks were a year ago. Enjoy, take pictures, and hug often while you can!

So 2026 seniors will be the first fully post-COVID hs’ers without any restrictions or COVID involvement

?
And next year at this time, CO26 will pass the crown to CO27 who will then be the new Kings of the Hill and so on and so forth.

What isn’t to like?

I am a parent of a ‘22, ‘24, and ‘25 HS graduate, very happy to see my youngest child graduate with all four years in person. 22 missed out on the hardest parts of HS (sophomore and junior) and 24 was so close to finishing middle school didn’t even have a freshman year. But at least both were able to graduate during senior year inperson

Glad to have made it through 4 years in a big suburban high school without a mass shooting! Sad to have to say that, but true.

My son is graduating from Magruder, which did have a school shooting.
Well, I call it a shooting at a school because it wasn't meant to be a mass shooting. It's been a rough four years. College offers no protection though. Nowhere does.
