Do we ever get standardized test results?

Anonymous
Still waiting for CogAt, they just had the kids take a round of MAP. But we never see any scores. What's the point

For MAP, my ES kid's teacher wrote the scores on a post-it note and sent it home with my kid on the day they took it.

My MS kid remembered his MAP scores and told me.

But for MCAP--sounds like it's a long time away to get results. Other threads say the state gives MCPS the results in July and then MCPS snail mails them to parents like 6 months later...

MAP scores are usually in ParentVue roughly a month after the test is taken (could be longer if your kid took the test at the beginning of the testing window or shorter if they took it near the end of the window.). Usually mid-June for spring MAP.

I called the aei office and they said COGAT results will be provided in the gifted and talented decision letter that will be sent out the first week in June. Not sure why they couldn't have just told us the COGAT results separately after the testing window closed.

Is this another snail mail thing?

I believe so, but these types of letters are also typically posted to parentvue.

Thanks for asking and reporting back!

Did they say whether the decision letter will include the detailed scores including subscores? Part of me thinks they might only include the overall percentile since that's the thing they actually use for the GT decision.

Thanks so much for letting us know—that was on my to do list but you beat me to it. Waiting six months for the results is ridiculous.

I did ask if the cogat scores would be provided and they claimed yes...we'll see if that is accurate.

GT letters are out and cogat scores are listed as missing…

Hmm.

My 3rd grader was “identified” last year so does that mean we won’t get her scores? Sounds like no one is getting the CoGAT scores

I’m seeing that they don’t identify as GT because of the missing data.

I see my cog at score on parentvue

At least it’s not a systemwide issue. I know my kid took the test, need to figure out what happened.

We just got our Cogat score on G&T letter, it’s on ParentVue. Should we expect more of a score breakdown later on?
