AP Bluebook Meltdown

What are the MoCo HSs doing about the AP Psych failure today?
Anonymous
Probably whatever the college board instructs them to do?
Anonymous
It was a college board issue.

BCC sent a letter with the make-up date, May 23 at 12pm:

Dear Students and Families,
As you may know by now, there was a nationwide issue with the Bluebook app used for administering AP exams, and as a result, many students were unable to log into the app to complete the AP Psychology exam today. Both the College Board and MCPS are aware of the issue.
Rescheduled Exam Details:
New Exam Date: Friday, May 23, 2025 at 12 PM
No Fee: There will be no charge for this rescheduled exam.
Action Required:
If your student wishes to take the rescheduled exam: Please have them complete this form by Monday, May 19, at 11:59 PM to facilitate proper testing logistics.

If your student does NOT wish to take the rescheduled exam: No action is required and no fee will be charged for cancellation.
Future Exam Option:
Students who prefer to take the exam next school year can opt in as an "exam-only" student. A memo with more details on AP exam registration will be sent in September.
Important Note:
The only recognized conflict for an alternative make-up date is another AP make-up exam scheduled at the same time. According to my records, there are no students in this position. We understand this situation may be inconvenient and we appreciate your understanding.

That sucks so badly. These poor kids. That’s a shitshow and these kids pay the penalty.

If they can’t learn to adapt then they aren’t ready for college.

I heard some kids say they were glad because it gives them more time to prepare, and also, some HS have prom tonight.

This is life. Situations happen. Move on.
Otherwise you’re going to be very unhappy.

Feel sorry for the seniors who now have to take an AP test on their last day of high school/potentially miss out on their school's "last day" festivities.

Things happen all of the time to cause kids to take a late make-up. Weather, sickness, power outages at school, etc. I’m not a fan of digital exams, but you are overreacting.

Huge bummer for sure

My DS’s school said they have reached out to the college board to discuss the possibility of an additional testing date earlier in the week. Hopefully if enough schools do that they might schedule something. Obviously it won’t work for kids who have other tests at that time, but the afternoon of Friday of Memorial Day weekend is really crappy. We’re not in MCPS, and our seniors will have already graduated

Honestly, so what? If these kids want the college credit, they will show up. Make-up exams are always the week after APs end.

CB: "You are going an AP exam today."

Kid: "Oh yeah?"

CB: "Psych!"

Wow, when do they graduate?
