CES waitlist

Do they give students offers as spots come up or walt until it's almost the start of the new school year? Really hard to plan this stuff with a sibling

A few years ago, people got offers throughout the summer as well as after school started. The chance of getting a spot in low, so for sibling purposes, just presume you are staying in your home school.

It’s on a rolling basis. If your child gets a spot take it while you try to find out the fate of ELC at your school- you can always give it up later.

Yes. We got a spot in oak view CES after school was out in June 2023

My child got a spot in the summer last year. We declined and stayed at our home school. Glad with our decision.

We also declined a spot and had a great year at our home school for 4th. Unfortunately ELC is going away so 5th may be a different story. I would be really careful this year, if I had it to do over I might make a different decision.

If you haven’t been accepted then you plan as if you won’t be. If kid gets a spot later you can then decide what to do.

What school?

ELC is being discontinued county wide. Highly recommend finding out what your school is doing next year and 5th ( some schools will have it one more year, and the replacement sounds like it will vary dramatically school to school in how it’s implemented).

I heard someone has already received the second round invitation. Has anyone else heard anything? Is that true? Thank you!

We have only been out in the waitlist after appeal. I wonder if they put everyone that appeals in the forever waitlist to placate them. Their kid will never get in, but they can blame the lottery

I wonder who came up with the lottery thing.. very disappointing that they held the highest scoring kids back.
If they dont think one time test and one marking period mean much, then look at the historical data or based on applications.

A friend received notice earlier this week that her child was accepted off the waitlist at Pine Crest Elementary.

We got an email on Monday about Oak View.
