Just add more baking powder and less butter/sugar. That's cake mix difference.

Since I don’t add baking powder to a purchased cake mix…do you have an exact recipe?

I feel like google will get you so much further in your quest than any answer from this forum.

The person who answered to add more baking powder doesn't know how to make cookies.

Make sure you refrigerate the dough. IME, too hard to handle otherwise.

Brookies from Ghirardelli brownie mix are the best.

Yuck. It takes like 10 seconds to measure out flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

I don't use exact recipes, I just cook/bake. Once you learn how, you won't need recipes.

I could explain it to you, but you would probably just throw a fit or something. Learn more about cooking, and brush up on reading comprehension.

I don’t get it. I would never try to make cookies out of a cake mix. Just look up a simple cookie recipe.

I love making Pumpkin Cookies (closer to a muffin top). I use a box of spice cake mix, a can of pumpkin, one egg, and some chocolate chips. It makes maybe 8-10 (depending on how big you make them). Always a hit. They freeze well too.
