I’ve never bought JCrew Factory or BR Factory or any of the factories. I live in a rural area where these versions of the brands are not accessible to me.
Can someone give me a run down on the quality and sizing? I have a few BR pieces and like that quality but not sure about the Factory pieces. They look pretty cute and come in natural fibers. |
BR Factory - It depends. It runs a little big for me, but I've found great suits there. The quality varies. Somethings are nice and some are cheaply made. Just depends. |
I have a BR factory sweater I like and a pair of pants that were absolutely awful. I won’t buy from them again. |
BR factory quality is terrible. I loved BR back in the 90s when it was good. I bought some chinos from JCrew (not the factory store) and they were terrible and expensive. One wash later they lost their shape and were just a waste of money. You couldn't pay me to clutter my closet with the factory clothing. |
BR factory is terrible. Seriously, not worth it.
Jcrew factory is more hit and miss. There is a Factory store in Tysons next to TJmaxx and you could try your luck there since you can actually see and feel the clothing before purchasing |
OP - I live in a rural and very inaccessible area in a different state, so I have to order everything online. I tend to order from brands I know sizing and have petite. |
I've found a few decent things at BR factory but will likely return one recent purchase because the material feels cheap. I've had very good luck with j crew outlet. |
Everything I’ve gotten from BR factory has faded, shrunk, and basically fallen apart. It’s similar to Old Navy but higher priced. |
who said their clothes come in natural fibers? They may sell a couple cotton tank tops or t shirts but that's it. |
A lot of Gap Factory is just last season's colors/prints. BR Factory is its own crappy beast. |
A JCrew Factory store just opened near us. I hadn’t been in years (nor to regular J Crew, if I’m being honest). Anyway, I was shocked with how expensive Factory items were. Quality looked fine but if I’m buying “factory” I’m expecting some sort of deal. I don’t mind spending on clothes, but the prices seem out of alignment with what the brand is, IMO. |
In the last couple years, I've gotten decent linen blend things from BR factory. The sizing is a little crazy, but I found the right size it was pretty consistent. Easy returns through UPS. I'm also petite. |
Agree with PPs that you can find quality things at Gap Factory and J. Crew Factory if you look carefully. BR Factory for the price seems a bit absurd, especially given that they actually don't have that many natural fibers (especially compared to the above 2, which have plenty of poly but plenty of cotton and even sometimes wool). |
It's fast fashion junk. Poor quality. You get what you pay for. |
I agree with others that the BR factory stuff looks good on line, but I haven't found anything from them that actually works well in person.
I've got a bunch of J Crew Factory stuff and I think it's actually all good. Maybe not quite the quality of J Crew itself, but it tends more to casual wear and is good for what it is. I've gotten my husband and son a ton of stuff from J Crew factory -- polos and patterned short sleeve shirts and shorts -- all of which are really nice. There is a J Crew outlet store in Rockville, if you want to see stuff in person. |
