I'm sure this has been discusses ad nauseum, but currently the Trace camera is like $95 if you sign up for a year of service. This seems like a fairly cheap way to get into this type of thing. I don't like the fact that you can only view video online and can't really share/download anything easily.
So thoughts, especially from folks who are currently using either system. Thanks |
| Veo has better quality. Trace nicely cuts the tape into clips. But at least with the subscription we have, you can download clips or the whole game in Trace. |
| Our coach owns the Veo and we paid ~$30 subscription fee for the service (I'm guessing there are multiple tiers of subscriptions, but I'm happy with whatever we have). You can download the full games, but online is better with the built in analytics/following players/creating clips etc. You can also easily share either the ai created clips or custom clips to anyone outside of the service. |
How do you download the game in trace? |
When you go in to view it, click on a clip and it will give you the option to download the clip or the whole game. |
This is prob easier than my explanation. 🤣 https://support.traceup.com/content/downloading-highlights |
If you have a mac, there also a youtube hack on how to download the game footage. Also, you can buy a cheep app that records and saves videos on your screen as a mpg video file. |

Google search for browser extension to save online video. Any video from a web page can be saved.
Our team has used both Trace and Veo. Veo is better quality. |
| Veo is better quality. Our team has both and Trace makes it super easy to make a highlight reel if you need that. I am thinking of taking advantage of the deal as we will be changing teams and unsure of what the new club does regarding recording games. |
