when do kids take Grade 7 math SOL for Algebra 1 Honors math?

I saw that IAAT will no longer be used for Algebra 1 Honors math placement in 7th grade, and instead a score of >500 on Grade 7 math SOL will be used. Do kids take this Grade 7 math SOL in the spring of 6th grade? My son is in a full time Level IV AAP class and so far all of his SOLs have correlated w/ his grade level, ie he took the Grade 4 math SOL in 4th grade, etc. So just wondering how / when the Grade 7 math SOL would be administered to determine placement for Algebra 1 Honors.

IIRC in 5th grade they take the math 6 SOL and in 6th grade the math 7 SOL.

Kids in Advanced Math and LIV take the 7th grade math SOL.

The math 7 SOL date depends on the school. Only kids in advanced math take the math 7 SOL.

ok so level IV kids take the following tests?
4th grade: Grade 4 math SOL
5th grade: Grade 6 math SOL
6th grade: Grade 7 math SOL

Do I have that right? I am OP - my son took Grade 4 math SOL in 4th grade even though he was in full time Level 4 program. So this year in 5th grade are you guys saying he will take the Grade 6 math SOL and then next year the Grade 7 math SOL?

Right. In 4th grade they are I believe done or close to done with 5th grade math, but it's in 5th that they really are considered skipped because they are fully doing 6th grade math. In 4th they are still covering some 4th grade topics.

Right. In 4th grade they are I believe done or close to done with 5th grade math, but it's in 5th that they really are considered skipped because they are fully doing 6th grade math. In 4th they are still covering some 4th grade topics.
