My husband and I just found out that that our baby due in October is a boy. We had a shortlist for girls, but we can't even come up with maybes for a boy.
Girls names we liked: Sabrina (my #1), Josephine, Veronica, Amelia, and maybe Orla. We have a one syllable relatively common last name that starts with M. Ideally we'd have a first name that is easy for the average American to pronounce/recognize but uncommon enough that there aren't multiples in a class. Any ideas?? I sort of like Rory for a boy, but it's very similar to our nephew's name so we think it'd be weird. |
August, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Calvin, Arlo, Griffin, Simon, Ronan? |
Assuming you like the same vibe as your girls names, multisyllabic, recognizable and easy to pronounce, not in the top 10:
Nathaniel (Nate) Nicholas Sebastian Gabriel Rafael/Raphael Gideon |
Your girl names are almost identical to the ones we had on our list, but sub Anna for Amelia (and no Orla). Boy names for us were Max, John and Peter. |
I know some of these were already suggested but
Arthur Daniel Gilbert Hugo Lucas Owen Primo Rowan Sebastian Simon Thomas Vincent Victor |
Vernon, Joseph, Irving |
So let's pretend your last name sounds like Moore.
Jesse Cory Jeremy Declan Charles/Charlie |
Sibling names to your fave girl names IRL:
Everett Leo Phillip Conor |
Gabriel, Joseph, Patrick, Cormac |
Jeremy Moore is kind of a mouthful, but I like the others Jesse, Cory and Charlie with that last name. |
Cletus
Boone Otis Zeke Hank |
Major. |
This isn’t such a thing anymore like it used to be. I have a 4th grader and 2nd grader. The only names that are repeated in either of their grades (no repeated IN their actual class but in the entire grade) are Nora, Ben, and Leo. So I would tell you avoid Ben and Leo haha but every other name, even names higher on the SSA name list, are not repeated. Most ppl we know want more unique names for their kids so there just aren’t a lot of repeats anymore. |
There are multiples of Thomas and Owen at our kids’ school. |
SO many Charlies…too common |
