Socratic School of Language / Mindbloom?

Curious if anyone could share how Socratic School of Language / formerly Mindbloom was for a young child, perhaps 2/3? I love the language aspect, but not positive it's appropriate for such a young child.

Currently the school is only operating in Hyattsville after my verified OSSE report was filed against their DC location due to injuries my child was coming home with and evidence of their lack of understanding of how to engage and support 2-year-olds in their classroom, including things like securing or supervising activities with scissors and honestly deeply concerning abusive practices. Rather than work with OSSE to be in compliance, they just moved everyone out of DC and into their Hyattsville building but still advertise as being on Rhode Island Ave...sadly I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

This school is not in Hyattsville, it is in Mount Rainier, directly up the street from their former location. I know the owner and my child attended the school and had a wonderful experience. The owner moved from the old building due to issues with the building and not anything OSSE related. They were there for over 10 years and have expanded their programming in many ways. They always had another location up the street, for some years now I think. It seems as if someone on this post has an axe to grind with the school and may be the family I remember the director had to remove from the school for being toxic to the children and staff at the former location and their son hurt another child. MindBloom was always a very high quality program and had very age appropriate and engaging curriculum for children. My daughter came in at age 2.5 and did very well, but aged out of the day program and we got into a language charter, but that experience honestly does not hold a candle to what she learned at MindBloom. I'd send her back if I could afford it. Some kids stay past age 5. We really liked the program and she has attended the camp program at the Mount Rainier location and that program is equally as good as the former location. I have even taken my youngest to their bilingual storytime at the National Building Museum and am happy to see that the same teachers who worked at the school also work this program at the museum. I know this school and all the teachers very well and I am confident that it is a solid program and encourage anyone interested in learning about the school to contact the school directly and speak with the staff/director there and then tour to get an honest opinion. They are very professional, above board, and knowledgeable and from what I can tell, there was never any turnover with this program, like there usually is with early care. The director is very responsive and everyone there is so kind, so I am not sure why anyone would want to troll/harass them by getting on here to try to hurt them. I never had a problem and neither did the family who referred me and my husband.

Both of my children attended Mindbloom's Spanish program--my oldest at the DC location and my youngest the Mt Rainier site. Both started at 2 yo and stayed until they started PK3 at a DC language immersion charter. They had excellent experiences and several of my kiddos' current charter classmates also attended. They loved their teachers and enjoyed the program. We still attend summer camp as well.
