| Just announced. Wow that's a lot of "elite" teams. |
| good for PPA!! they have some quality girls teams |
| They also have some truly awful teams |
| Boom? |
| Fizzle |
| What is Aspire? |
| GA Aspire = ECNL RL |
|
So is it
ECNL GA ECRL GA-A EDP ? |
Not for every region, but generally that is correct |
Yeah, that is a good assessment. That’s how I see it as well. |
Probably a bit worse than ECRL |
Arl, GFR, Stafford and Vienna RL will be strong. Gets interesting after that. Do you like these RL clubs (LMVSC, BRYC, PWSI, DCSC, Herndon, Villareal, VSA, Valor) more than these teams which will be Aspire next year (McLean White, Loudoun Red, SYC2, VRSC2) |
|
Not saying it won’t change over time but at the moment, it’s a stretch to say Aspire is better than EDP top divisions. Many Aspire teams will be moving from mid tier EDP.
Just more traveling and dilution. |
Not quite, LMVSC & DCSC are at the bottom of the standings for almost all age groups, while Loudon and SYC2 are at the top of many rankings and ranked higher for most age groups than all other teams on the list. By some measures Aspire is better than ECNL RL. But, truly we would need to see how the majority of Aspire teams perform at the U13 & U14 levels over the next two years make any kind of reasonable assessment. We do have team data for ECNL RL, and some of that data is terrible. It remains to be seen if Aspire keeps terrible clubs in as well. It is too early to rank & compare a new league that has not even started yet. |

ECRL, Aspire, NAL are the same level as EDP 1 or 2. The difference is that the first 3 are club based while EDP is team based.
Clubs without quality teams at every age group should play EDP. The stronger teams play 1 or 2 while the weaker can drop to 3 or 4. ECRL and NAL have some really weak teams who have no business being in those leagues but have to play there because their clubs are chasing the badge for their stronger age groups. Aspire will be no different. |
