Just got a call with a spot for 9th ![]() |
If you happen to be telling the truth, you have just outed yourself in a huge way. There are maybe 1-2 kids that are offered spots and probably 1 maximum today.
Nothing says "welcome to the GDS family" more than outing yourself as DCUM poster. |
Eh, whatever. If true, the poster has revealed (to anyone monitoring this from GDS Admissions, not really anyone else) that they are trying to inform others, in case it's helpful. Sure there are some awful people who post to DCUM and use the anonymity to spew toxicity, but many here are helpful and constructive--most, even. It's not shameful or embarrassing to have someone know you post here. |
Congrats OP and welcome! |
Also, congratulations, OP! |
It doesn’t mean they’re taking the spot. And anyone, how would anyone know you got off the waitlist vs. regular admissions? It’s not like anyone has memorized who was at admitted students events, and even if they did, not everyone goes.
Happy it worked out, OP! |
There’s nothing wrong with sharing this information (and excitement) here. Congrats, OP! |
Any spots offered now are probably because somebody got laid off so I think in poor form to celebrate it. |
No one will know her child got in off the waitlist and there a bunch of new 9th graders. Relax. |
Is anyone who gets into a school off the waitlist allowed to celebrate? Someone may have declined for a different school they like better or their parent got a job in a different location and they need to move. |
Most people are going elsewhere, GDS ain’t what it used to be.
|
Or because a kid accepted another school? Congrats OP! We gave up our 9th grade spot at GDS for a different school, though it was a hard decision. I hope it is amazing for your family! |
GDS waitlist did not move, some mean person wanted to start some gossip. GDS is is just what is it and will always be where everyone wants to talk about. staff |
Congrats! Are you taking it? |
Yikes! Hope you didn’t take it, OP. |
