Any privates near Arlington/Falls Church $1500 range

Anonymous
Are there any private schools near Arlington or Falls Church that are around $1500/month or less? We have two kids so looking for something no more than $3K/month. We are Muslims so not interested in a Catholic school unless it has non-Catholics and academics are not religion based. Thank you!!

No, unless you want parochial school, which you said you don’t.

I would Post on the private school board. This is for kids in public. I’m not sure there are any non catholic privates in the area that inexpensive though… even Congressional is 36k/year. And Flint hill is 43k for the lower school. We pay 55k/year at our DC non catholic private.

We paid more than that for daycare!

Our Savior Lutheran is a hidden gem. Not everyone is religious but there is religion in the curriculum.

You could look at some Montessori schools, though I think they’d be slightly higher

You didn’t specify an age.

The Village School in Arlington seems to be in your price range. I’m not familiar with it other than it is very small and requires you to learn about their operating philosophy before applying.

Generally, there are no secular schools in this area that cost less than what the public school systems pay to educate children ($23-24k). Most are double.

You may be eligible for scholarships to the more competitive schools if you can get both kids in. I’ve heard some can very generous even to people making a ton of money if you can check the right boxes.

This is a public school forum. There's a separate one for people who don't support public education.

Public education- where people "buy" into school districts. Ok.

What schools are you referring to that would have scholarships for both kids? Can you please specify what you mean by right boxes?

I’ve heard of this school but don’t know much about it. It might be worth looking into.

I think Pinecrest in Annandale is around that range. My kids did a summer camp there and I thought it was lovely. I was impressed.

Also, how conservative are you socially? Some small schools cater to kids who, for whatever reason, where disadvantaged in APS. Sometimes that means they are different in some way that makes the school very open and accepting. By that I mean, they are usually socially liberal. If you are socially liberal family, the smaller schools might work for you but if you are not, that's a problem. If you post in the private school forum, put in the total fee you can afford to pay. I paid in installments that were not monthly so I have no idea the monthly payment.

I'm sorry that your school closed. I've known some graduates and they were all great in the workplace.
