Global watchdog post

Anonymous
I posted a couple of times in the political forum about a global watchdog report that states how the US can lose its status as a democracy. I am Canadian and posted from our Canadian Broadcast Corporation. I just wanted to share news from Canada that might not otherwise be shared in the US. Just curious to know why my posts were deleted. Here is the news link. Maybe you can’t access it in the US?

It is interesting that your post here is about 5 times longer than the post I deleted. I have decided to declare war on what I am calling "tweet posts" which are posts that consist of one short, vague sentence and a link. DCUM is a discussion forum. Post something that we can discuss. If someone has to click on a link to a third party website just to know what the hell you are talking about, I'm going to delete the thread.

There has been a rash of these threads, especially at night. I wake up every morning and immediately remove about a half-dozen of them. I am not sure what is causing this trend, but I am very tired of it.

Thank you for your response, Jeff. I actually drove back from Ottawa to where I live right now for work, and was tired. I did not add a thoughtful reason as to why I posted the link. I will tomorrow.

The rule is that you can't post just a link. So, adding one random sentence meets the minimum requirement for posting the link; the letter not the spirit.

I changed the rule. Posters come in and start thread after thread that completely lack substance. These threads push other threads off the front page. Then posters don't bother to look and start new threads on the same topic of threads on the second page. I want substantive threads. If I wanted tweets, I would shutdown DCUM and tell everyone to use X.

I just posted again. I hope I followed the rules

I think I have learned to live with being constantly on the verge of losing my mind.
