Pet smells

We have a dog and a cat and one (or both) of them inevitably pee somewhere occasionally. Our rugs smell subtly of pee even though we clean them and spot clean. Is there anything you can do to get rid of the smell?

Rocco and Roxie spray cleaner. But follow the directions. Soak it, spot clean, soak again etc. yiu can also wash your rugs with it.

Make sure you're using an enzymatic cleaner immediately after the incident. Nature's miracle makes a good one (the OG formula, not the urine remover which REEKS).

Folex will get out any stains and leftover smells. Use a blacklight to find where to apply.

Clorox Urine Remover is the only thing that worked for me. It’s peroxide based and didn’t fade my rug.

I had a pretty bad situation when my rescue dog started sneaking into a guest bedroom and peeing. We didn't realize it until it was out of hand. We had the carpet professionally cleaned and they used enzymatic cleaner (basically the Nature's Miracle stuff) and that helped, but didn't get rid of the smell completely.

What did work was covering the carpet in baking soda, closing the door and leaving it for 24 hours with an open window, then vacuuming it up. Then we did it again. We might have done it a third time, I don't remember.

That worked.
