Is there a hack to search this site?

I’ve been on here for years and the search function has always baffled me. The search terms brings up 10 copies of the same post, just different responses. I feel like I’m doing something wrong. Sometimes people will say “do a search” when they feel something has been over-asked, but when I do…the results aren’t great.

Not complaining. Love it here. Just curious if there are suggestions to searching.

Each forum has its own search box and sometimes that helps narrow the search. But the best way to search is often use Google and add site:www.dcurbanmom.com before your search terms.
