Anyone spend time in Menorca? Was it worth it? What did you do?

Would you recommend for a family with kids 10 & 13? We're not really beach people, or rather we like the beach, but more for hiking, swimming, snorkeling or surfing than laying around. We are traveling for a dear cousin's wedding and figuring out if we should take extra time in the island or better to spend more time in Eastern Spain.
