LA-- where to stay?

Going to LA to look at colleges -- where should we stay? Looking to get an airbnb somewhere.

What colleges are you visiting?

USC, Scripps, Occidental. They are all over so staying near a college will likely make no sense. We'll have a car there.

LA traffic is bad enough that I’d still consider the school locations. I’d recommend somewhere around Glendale/Pasadena. That’ll put you near Occidental College and better positioned for Scripps. Unless you had additional site seeing in mind.

I stayed in Marina Del Ray for a recent college visit and it worked out well.

The Huntington Library is worth a visit out that way too.

I would not stay at an Air BNB.

Went to Huntington Library last August. One of the most impressive places I've visited.

You could end up staying somewhere that's an hour away in traffic. Need more details.

Yeah that was my first thought as well. Or I might split the time between say Pasadena and somewhere more central to touristy places like Westwood or Century City, to also visit USC from.

I guess my concern about Pasadena is the recent fire.... was it not badly affected?
