I can't wait to see the revised 2Q numbers....and this is with the cooked books.

So. On the cusp of a recession then.

Well done MAGA!

I thought they weren’t implemented yet. Please tell PP and get your talking points in order.

Trump has proposed hundreds of tariffs. Some of the are in place already and most of them are not.

But a blanket 10% tariff rate is ridiculous. Why can’t it be strategic? It also gives way to price gouging, which Harris wanted to prevent.

US goods exports tumbled in May at their steepest rate since the coronavirus crisis in 2020, as trading partners cut back purchases of American goods in the wake of President Donald Trump’s “liberation day” tariff blitz.

Exports tallied $179.2bn in May, a $9.7bn — or 5.2 per cent — drop from the previous month’s figure, according to Census Bureau data released on Thursday. That marked a reversal from an increase of 3.5 per cent in April.

Trump couldn't damage the US more if he tried.

Personal income dropped .4%, the first negativ read since COVID.

Also, the cost of good ticked up, the first inflationary read with tariff impact.

Trump's big beautiful bill is going to cause thousands to lose their jobs. I will actually get a tax cut. Great, but the extra $20k I get on top of my $1M salary is not worth 1000s of people being out of work. Sorry.

Exactly. Unemployment is climbing in Virginia (and I am sure elsewhere). I can’t see anything the Trump admin is doing to help employment. Oh that’s right, Trump just doesn’t care.

And unemployment doesn’t apply to people with jobs.

Inflation isn’t a problem when my salary and bonuses are up.

If people chose the wrong career, failed to save a nest egg and took for granted that there wouldn’t be peaks and valleys that’s on them.
