How do we find out if your child got into AAP?

I have older kids and they got letters in the mail. This was before Covid. We received right around spring break.

Email the Friday before Spring Break. When my DC was admitted, it came in the morning as I was walking home from the bus stop. Other years, it's been in the afternoon, right before Gatehouse flips the switch and leaves for the week.

Do you get an email if your child is not admitted or only if you are in?

Last year the email came out on Friday April 5th around 5pm, the week after spring break. I would expect April 4th this year.

You are notified by email either way, and both types of emails are sent on the same day.

Per FCPS web site, they'll be "sent" April 3-4:

Caveat: they don't always follow their own timeline.

Thank you!

Last year's spring break was early, so the AAP letter arrived after SB. This year's SB is from 4/14-18, so expect it arrives before 4/11.

How do *we* find out if *your* child got into AAP?

You will let us know, along with their test scores, HOPE scores, i-Ready %tiles, etc.
