Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
My stepfather's birthday is coming up and my mom wants to take me, DH and DS (3 years old) to a family style Italian restaurant. We live in Chevy Chase, MD and don't want to travel too far and are looking for reasonable prices. I searched the archives and most of the restaurants listed did not seem favorable to small children. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Took my toddler to the new carmine's by the verizon center and he loved it. Loud place, they gave him crayons, good food, will definitely go back.
Mamma Lucia in downtown Bethesda?
Maggiano's if you're willing to go the chain route. We love going to Vicino's in Silver Spring on Sligo Ave...not fancy, but very kid friendly. The white pizza is amazing. Two Amy's is very kid friendly and while they focus on pizza they offer other dishes too. Ambrosia in Rockville...in the same area as Old Navy and the Giant is wonderfully family friendly and the food is amazing--traditionally Greek but they do Italian just as well (the homemade lasagna is fab). I'd pick Ambrosia out of all of them.
Cristina's in Wheaton. Small, but friendly. We first took our DD there when she was three.
Definitely Pines of Rome in Bethesda!
Bucca de Beppo (sp?) is another family style Italian place in Dupont Circle. I believe they have valet parking. Maggianis in Friendship Heights certainly fits your bill as well.
