In the new court filing late Friday, Trump demanded twice the amount in damages than he originally requested. The updated complaint included CBS’ parent company, Paramount Global, as a defendant and added Republican U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former doctor, as a plaintiff because he lives in Texas, where the case was filed. Trump’s amended filing seeks to steer the case away from 1st Amendment grounds. Instead, Trump asserts the case should not hinge on free speech arguments because CBS allegedly had business motivations to make Harris appear stronger. |

I am incredibly disappointed in 60 mins. They should have never edited the interview in to that extent. It was more than just cleaning it up. That said, 20 Billion is absurd. I'm sure they are going with an insane amount and hope to get a fraction. Did 60 mins apologize or offer an explanation? |

I'm curious what the legal theory is on the business motivations to make Harris appear stronger.
Do I think they edited to make Harris sound better? Of course. For political reasons? Sure. But that would be protected under the first amendment and even if there were business motivations (and I don't see what they would be) I don't see why that would defeat the first amendment claim either. |

They explained it the week it happened. The only reason anyone knows there were edits (as there are in every interview) it is that they published two versions of the interview, and didn't hide it. |
