Risk of snow days in APS this week (2/10 - 2/14)

I think - if the predictions don't change - we are out Tues-Weds and delay on Thurs.

I think it's possible that we may have school Tuesday since it's not supposed to start snowing until mid-day but extended will close at 5. No School Wednesday, 2 hour delay Thursday.

100% prediction of whining that teachers are lazy and APS can't handle snow from parents who consider school to be childcare.

School Tuesday, no extended day.

No school Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe late start or no school Friday.

I really don't envy the people who have to make these decisions, especially when the storms are supposed to be at peak commuting times.

They should close on Tuesday. Going to be a nightmare to try to get home on buses that day.

Right now Capital Weather Gang says, “The snow, which will probably begin Tuesday between late morning and late afternoon, could continue into Wednesday morning, causing low visibility and slick roads.”

It depends on the timing. Nobody wants to deal with a Commutemagedon situation. They could do an early release if the snow is projected for late afternoon. There’s also a second wave expected Wednesday night of mixed precipitation.

I will say the AMOUNT of snow predicted has gone down from over a foot to under, between Tuesday and Wednesday, but I still think both days will be affected.

Early release is a nightmare. Better to just keep the kids home. And the teachers who have to come from afar. Also teachers will call in sick.
