No idea if I have a job or agency.
What now? Do I go to work tomorrow? |
I don't know. Just want to day I am sorry, OP. |
Yes. Go to work if you haven’t been suspended. And if things look weird, call a reporter at Washington post or politico or ny times and tell them what you’re seeing. |
And not from your government phone |
This is bonkers. |
+1. If you haven’t been told you are on leave, furloughed, etc, go to work! |
I'd start planning and applying for new jobs asap. |
If it’s a reorg to put it under State, you could still have a job. The website disappearing does not mean your job does. |
Likely significant reductions coming. I did hear on the news that a lawsuit may be filed as early as Monday. |
OP, as a fellow fed in another agency, and also as a caring human being with empathy, I am with you. You have my sympathy and my fingers crossed for an ok outcome. Please report back and let us know how tomorrow goes. Good luck! |
Hang in there, OP, and don’t fork off! |
Go in tomorrow and keep a record of everything you observe or are told. Be strong, USAID has a great mission. |
Also video what you can. |
Well they sent us an email at midnight telling us headquarters is closed. And we are to telework |
USAID is a proxy. They basically invaded the agency and succeeded. Next it will be DoEd. USAID workers, if you’re home today, go to Capitol Hill and demand to talk to your representative. Go to their office and don’t leave until you get a meeting with them. This is legitimately insanity. |
