So demoralizing about the amyloid hypothesis. It's probably set the field back 20 years (during which my mom went from a healthy vibrant 50 year old to a nonverbal 68 yr old).

I can’t pretend to understand this article but maybe if you reply suggest the author to get some analysis done with Ai learning models. Grok and probably chat gpt can analyze medical photos they say. (A part in the article says she can’t analyze all of the work)

Thank you for sharing this article. I don’t understand why there isn’t more outrage and pressure coverage about scientific fraud.

Billions are being spent based on fraudulent research, progress isn’t being made, and nothing major seems to happen to these researchers who are committing fraud.

This is why I roll my eyes when people keep using "science" as an argument. I've worked in research as a college and grad student and I went a different direction. There is a lot of fraud and data manipulation (and yes, the people who did it were eventually caught). A lot of what guided the federal governments guidelines for nutrition was fraudulent too.

Most studies are skewed to get the results the researcher wants. I'm sorry your mom is going through that. Its horrific. My MIL had the same thing at the same age - early onset dementia is the worst when they are so young. She lived for so many years non-verbal, not knowing anything and scared. Sadly, death was her only escape.
