Got TDAP vaccine yesterday - my joints are killing me

Third kiddo.

I remember the second time just my arm hurting for 6 days.

This go around my upper back and neck are sore (and of course arm), but I am in disbelief at how much my hips, knees, and ankles are hurting.

My butt muscles are also sore..

I don't get it, because those are all far away from the injection site.

Has anyone else had killer joint pain following their TDAP?? 😣

Any chance you happen to catch a virus recently? I had zero symptoms either of my tdap shots

Sounds like you picked up flu or Covid at the place where you got the shot

OP here. I'm sure it's possible but that would be pretty crazy if I did.

I didn't see another patient at the OB's office the entire time I was there. Had a scan so appointment time was longer than usual. Was onsite for 60 minutes from the time I checked in to the time I checked out.

I've never had side effects from a TDAP. I agree this may be coincidental.

I have autoimmune issues and most vaccines cause me to have joint and muscle pain flare ups.

I always get a ton of pain from a TDAP. My doctor told me it’s a normal side effect. Really sucks though. Advil will work wonders…

It should go away inna day or so. Shingles shots do that too.

OP here. I'm chalking this up to an allergic reaction. My face and ears were red and hot and my whole body was just warm all day on Wednesday.

My nerve leg pain was so severe all day Wednesday that I was scared and was contemplating going in but couldn't because my husband was out of town.

My legs feel better now but I'm still worried it could come back.

Apparently Tdap is known for potentially causing nerve problems in some people. Of course I only found this out after the fact.

Years ago when I got my previous Tdap I had the facial and ear flushing and heat but didn't connect it at the time and only did so this week.

I also have had brachial neuritis in both shoulders that developed over the years and again, didn't realize the connection until yesterday. Ugh.
