Do you think there are some transplant gentrifier try hard wanna-be Washingtonians who would be willing to buy it from me? |
what? they are giving 202 out to new cell phones in No Va. |
What's valuable about a 202 number? Please enlighten us, OP. |
Apparently the various variations of 202 are running out and are desirable to own.
|
Hmm. Well, give us an update when you've managed to sell your number. Should be a nice hobby for you. Keeps you occupied and out of harm's way. |
I vaguely remember that when NYC got a new area code that people wanted the 212 instead of 917 (I think that is the right AC) because the 212 was the original AC of NYC and it seemed to be a status symbol of some kind.
202 is not the same. |
70-75 degrees is the forecast high temperature today where I am at. I have a swimming pool only a few feet away from my back door. What about you? |
I agree with everything you just said but some people prefer the DC area because of politics I could care less. I am thousands of miles away from DC. |
Nobody cares what anyone else's phone number is anymore, we're all "contacts" now. |
Is it like in 1997 when I got a 917 number instead of 212? |
It is not valuable. I changed numbers a few years back and asked if I could keep a 202 number (it wasn't a dealbreaker, it's just what I was used to) and got one no problem. No one cares.
It's not like back when everyone had a landline and your area code indicated where you actually live (though I live in DC). |
70-75 is too cold to swim. |
But also who cares where OP is. How is that relevant to her desire to sell her 202 number. |
If Facebook yard sale accounts have taught me anything, it's that everything is desirable to someone else.
A guy bought a new TV at Costco and posted the empty tv box with styrofoam for sale for $50. The first few comments were people mocking him and then the next several were people vying for it. He sold it. HE SOLD AN EMPTY BOX! I've also seen people sell empty iPhone/iPad/Apple watch boxes on there for $10-30 a pop. |
