This is all really sad to witness. I hope she turns it around, but I don’t think that’s going to happen at this point. You can’t force an adult to comply with mental health treatment or take their meds. Seen it time and again with relatives and it has never ended up well and leaves a lot of destruction in its wake. There may well have been problems with the conservatorship, but this is clearly someone who cannot take care of herself. And she has the right, I suppose, to continue spiraling downward, as no one can compel her to stay in treatment.
Ugh… just sad all around. Hoping for the best for her boys. |
Well, it certainly helps that she's being photographed unclothed in a state of distress after some sort of physical or mental traumatic event and that those pictures are being published. |
She’s telling everyone it was a body double?! Why? Pretty clear it’s you Brit. |
I just hope when Jaimie was her conservator, he set up trust funds for the boys. I hope they are able to get some of her money. Because, like was said above, it is her right to continue spiraling downward. No once can force her into treatment. We all saw what happened to the conservatorship. This is the result - she is unwell but no one can do anything. |
Why would it matter what her fans think? It was the courts that removed the conservatorship. The courts decided that she was well enough to look after herself and make her own decisions, not her fans. |
I do, PP is correct. The information the court received was based on reports from individuals hired by Mr. Spears. Britney probably needs a conservator that will act in her best interests. Why didn’t her family advocate for a replacement conservator that would act as a neutral third party? |
I think that was on the table at some point but I don't remember how it was scuttled. |
Everyone is still consuming this woman's downfall. I'm done watching it. I hope she finds peace. |
It never made sense that someone who could headline a multimillion tour or residency needed a conservatorship. Jamie’s greed destroyed her. |
Jamie Spears had stepped down from being her personal conservator in September 2019 (2 years before the conservatorship ended). Her conservator the last two years was Jodi Montgomery.
Bessemer Trust had been appointed co-conservators of her finances by the court in Nov 2020. There are trusts in place for her children. The #FreeBritney crowd really didn't understand conservatorships or what was happening. There is so much misinformation out there. |
This. 100% this. I don’t know what is wrong with Britney but the system failed her (like so many other people) The suggestion that she has a right to basically fall apart is such BS. At the time the court issued their opinion to end the conservatorship she was still under it, so she could appear somewhat sane. Now she is a complete mess and surrounded by people who only want to take advantage of her. But for the fame and fortune she would likely be homeless and on the streets if not dead. She is 41, nothing about her says 41. |
I was a Free Britney proponent. I think I was wrong. This is so sad. |
Britney claimed that she was a ghost writer for at least 20 songs over the past two years. Can that be true? That would certainly be helping her financial situation. |
I would think more that someone in the music industry is helping her out by giving her song writing credits on songs. Maybe they have her read over the lyrics and make a suggestion etc. Then she will get residuals from that music and feel like she is doing something. Just like the song Elton John released with her. People can be quite productive and creative when hypomanic but she seems too disorganized to put actual songs together. |
She says her lawyer is like a father to her...maybe because he has taken 4 million from her in 3 years...? |
