I need to schedule an induction due to AMA and GD. Someone from Sibley reached out to me today with a list of dates and OBs, I won't have my pick but can indicate top 3 preference. Can DCUMers share any positive or negative delivery experiences with the following doctors, especially if one of them saw you through an induction?
Dr. Jacob Dr. Jackson Dr. Thompson Dr. Smith Dr. Dedania Dr. Onyewuenyi I've had a rough pregnancy full of complications and anxieties, I would like to give myself the best shot at a smooth delivery. This will be my second baby but first induction. I'm not fussy but would like a provider who is empathetic to the need for pain management and can explain the whys and risks of their recommendations. Thank you! |
I’d hire a doula |
I'm not interested in doula. Had my first baby without one and it was just fine, between all the nurses fussing over you and my husband I really did not see the need for one. |
Inductions can take a long time, so there's absolutely no assurances that the doctor on the day of your induction will be there when you have the baby. |
This. |
Oh, I didn't realize this. My first child was born very quickly so they think induction will be fast this time too. But good to know - thanks! Still interested in any experiences with these providers! |
Positive experiences with both Dr Jackson and Dr Thompson. |
Dr. Jacob delivered my baby recently and she’s wonderful. She takes the time to explain everything thoroughly. |
Oh and it was an induction, though elective and my second baby, so it was super smooth and quick. |
Tbh I have no idea who delivered my baby - they came in when it was time to push and our interaction was minimal but totally fine. I had a short time line between induction and delivery but it was the next day so OB on call on the day I went in was not relevant. |
