For high school credit classes, how is commutative GPA determined? With quarterly grades or only the final grade? My kid was really sick and it is having an impact on this quarter.

Final grades make the gpa. The final grade is calculated across all 4 quarters (sometimes with the addition of a midterm/final). So one quarter can be overcome for the final grade.
